The global animal health company Alltech brought together many Australian players in the agribusiness sector at The Windsor in Melbourne’s CBD yesterday to discuss some of the challenges facing this industry. Many of the topics covered were serious questions (such as, how are we going to feed the additional 3 billion people that will join our world by 2015?) but the mention of the approaching Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games™ 2014 soon lightened the mood.
As a finale to the Alltech 26th Asia-Pacific Lecture Tour in Melbourne today, Matthew Smith, Alltech’s Director Asia Pacific announced that local feed company HYGAIN® has become an Alltech Official Partner of the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games™ 2014 in Normandy.
This partnership provides HYGAIN with a wide range of benefits including exclusive marketing rights. They will activate a number of marketing and promotional campaigns leading up to the Games, giving their customers throughout Australia and internationally the opportunity to be involved in the excitement
Greg Manley, founder of HYGAIN, was at The Windsor for the announcement and was delighted that his company had been chosen yet again as the sole Australian Alltech Official Partner for the world’s largest equestrian competition. In 2010 HYGAIN partnered with Alltech for the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games in Kentucky
“I visit Kentucky regularly but sadly I didn’t actually attend the Games there in 2010” said Greg “However, we sent four of our staff members and 20 of our retailers who enjoyed a wonderful experience”
This time he is determined to be part of the action and will definitely be joining his team in Normandy.
Greg (above) started Hy Gain Feeds Pty Ltd as a one man operation in 1983. As a horse owner and competitor dissatisfied with the quality and nutritional standards of feeds available, he decided to take things into his own hands and started developing and mixing nutritionally balanced feed formulas to feed his own horses and others in the local area. Demand for the product rapidly grew and soon outstripped the capacity of the one man operation resulting in the establishment of a dedicated equine feed mill and manufacturing facility in the heart of the Victorian equine industry, south east of Melbourne. The company now has additional offices in Australia and a growing global market share, exporting throughout Australasia, North and South Asia, the Middle East and Europe
“We are delighted that HYGAIN are for the second time the Australian Alltech Official Partner of the Games. HYGAIN joins more than 29 global partners who have united in a collaborative effort to promote optimal animal health and nutrition through the world championships of equestrian sport,” said Adam Naylor, general manager, Alltech Australia.
