A win is not always a perfect thing

Emma Mason relaxes after her win

Lots of us assume that to win an event (or a class at an event) means that everything has gone perfectly but more often than not that isn’t the case.

The important thing to realise is that whether you win or lose you must be aware of your horse felt at the event and work out the best plan for what you do next … and sometimes taking a step down can be the best thing.
