Shane and Shanghai Joe
Shane Rose’s homebred Shanghai Joe (Nugget) may have been a last minute addition to the flight schedule from Australia to the UK but he did a solid job today in the big arena at the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials for 11th place on 50.5.
The 10 year old horse bred by Shane and his wife Niki turned out to be a little too slow for the racetrack so he began his career as an eventer and has since moved his way up through the levels. He won at his very first CCI3* at the Melbourne International 3 Day Event in 2014 and now is tackling his first Burghley, despite the fact that he was meant to be at home eating grass!
