Mitsubishi Motors Australian International 3 Day Event - find out more here
Hazel Shannon made history at the 2019 Mitsubishi Motors Australian International 3 Day Event today by winning the CCI5* in Adelaide for the third time on the same horse, Willingapark Clifford
The pair won the same event, the only CCI5* in the Southern Hemisphere, in 2016 and 2017 and went into the arena with three rails in hand after New Zealand’s Amanda Pottinger, in second place after cross country, added twelve penalties. Hazel would have preferred to finish on her dressage score but, even with two rails down, the historic win was theirs on a score of 38.70
Dual Olympic medallist Stuart Tinney and his young horse Leporis moved into second place (45.90) with just one rail down and Lauren Browne took third place (47.40) on Sky’s Da Limit
Andrew Cooper and Riverbreeze win the CCI4*-S
It was a good day for the Tinney family with Stuart’s daughter Gemma winning the CCI3*-L riding Diabolo while Andrew Cooper took the CCI4*-S on Riverbreeze
The State of Victoria once again won the Bates 3* Young Rider Championship with Sam Jeffree winning on Woodmount Lolita but NSW claimed the State Teams Championship thanks to the efforts of Hazel Shannon, Stuart Tinney, Tim Boland and Shenae Lowings
