Andrew Cooper at Melbourne International 3 Day Event
Andrew Cooper remains as the top ranked Australian rider in the FEI World Rankings as at 31st December 2017 but he has moved into 13th place with the final results of the year now accounted for
Following his placings at the Australian International 3 Day Event Andrew added to his points tally in early December with fourth and eighth places at Wallaby Hill Farm on Lagoes Choice and Hunters Hill. He finished the year with a total of 341 points in 13th place on the World Rankings and in fourth place on the South East Asia & Oceania Rankings behind New Zealand’s Tim Price, Andrew Nicholson and Sir Mark Todd
Andrew is not the only Australian eventing rider to move up with Megan Jones jumping from 38th to 22nd place in the World Rankings with seventh place in the CCI3* at Wallaby Hill Farm
Sonja Johnson is very close behind in 23rd place, Shane Rose is in 27th and Victoria’s Yona Lloyd, who put his mishap at Adelaide behind him and re-routed to Wallaby Hill to finish third in the CCI3* has moved into the Top 50 in 36th place just ahead of Stuart Tinney in 37th
Chris Burton is the top UK-based Australian rider in 42nd place and, although the rankings reflect that southern hemisphere riders continue to compete in November and December, it is still an impressive result for 25 year old Andrew Cooper
