The Organising Committee of the Agnes Banks Equine Clinic Sydney Eventing Spring Classic must be praying that this weekend’s event will go ahead as planned after a year of stops and starts

Their Sydney Summer Classic in February was 'oh so nearly' a goer until the Sydney International Equestrian Centre at Horsley Park was the (un)lucky recipient of 42mm of rain, on top of 36mm the previous day and the event had to be cancelled at the last minute. Only the kangaroos got to enjoy the course that weekend then a big effort to re-schedule to March was also thwarted by Mother Nature.

But now we all have fingers and toes crossed for a great Spring Classic instead

16 combinations will canter down the centre line of the Agnes Banks Equine Clinic CCN4* dressage arena on Saturday morning in the headline class of the popular event held at the Sydney International Equestrian Centre, originally the home of equestrian at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.

Regular competitors Shane Rose, Shenae Lowings and Hazel Shannon may be busy preparing to be part of the Australian team at the World Championships at Pratoni in Italy but there is still a quality field taking part in the national 4*

The other ‘Star’ classes are also well subscribed with 17 combinations in the Agnes Banks Equine Clinic CCN3*, 30 in the Horseland Dural CCN2* and two big CCN1* Sections

The EvA60 to EvA95 sections are also busy with the 60cm and 95cm going cross country on Saturday and the five EvA80 sections doing dressage, show jumping and cross country all on one day on Sunday

We’ll be at Sydney Eventing Summer Classic throughout the weekend filming all competitors on cross country and bringing you daily updates followed by our feature article the following week plus of course our cross country videos

See you there!

Hopefully all ducks are in a row for this weekend!
