Sixty years ago, Neale Lavis and his mount Bennelong were awarded the Three-Day Horse Trial Trophy at Australia’s first three-day event at Sydney Royal Show
It was the beginning of a proud tradition of the sport in Australia and the Sydney International Horse Trials remains a premier fixture on the eventing calendar to this very day.
To mark the 60th anniversary of the event, the Sydney International Horse Trials will be celebrating the achievements of our eventing champions, both past and present.
While the event has in recent years catered for show jumping riders too, holding the World Cup Showjumping during the same weekend, this year the Sydney International Horse Trials will be an intimate affair, tailor-made to eventing enthusiasts and running eventing classes only.
The scheduled classes for 2017 program include the following:
- CCI3*, CCI2*, CCI1*
- CIC3*, CIC2*, CIC1*
- EvA105
- Young Event Horse (4,5,6yo)
The organisers hope invite the eventing community in Australia to join them in celebrating 60 years of eventing in Australia from May 11th – 14th, at the Sydney International Horse Trials 2017.
