Some last-minute pleading from the organisers of the 2025 Canberra International Horse Trials seems to have worked, with good entries across the classes at the National Capital’s CCI event from 4th – 6th April.

After a few changes on the Australian eventing calendar, with Canberra moving forward to an April spot enabling riders to have another CCI hit out before Adelaide, the Asset Hire Construction CCI4*-S will see 15 combinations start their dressage on Saturday. The 4* class also do showjumping on Saturday with cross country on Sunday and hopefully we’ll get to see Shane Rose’s talented mare Easy Turn head out on cross country for the first time in a while.

Niki Rose with Dreamrush and Emma Mason riding Warrego Marco Polo are ones to watch in the Wallaby Hill CCI3*-S but keep an eye out too for Judy Clarke and Oaks Quasimodo who have been bridesmaids at their last two events and Niki is also a hot favourite with Cooley All Over in the Completely Equine CCI2*-S.

The national classes are heavily subscribed with six sections of EvA80 meaning that some will do their dressage on Friday then all will showjump and go cross country on Saturday.

There are also three sections of EvA95 and two sections of CCN1* so it’s a busy few days ahead at Canberra!

We’ll be filming all riders on cross country plus bringing you quick daily updates and a full wrap up on the website next week. And of course, don’t forget to keep an eye on our socials for video snippets and more during the event!
