 Christopher (Chris) Bartle, the man responsible for much of the success of both German and British eventing teams over the years, will be presenting a Masterclass during the Sydney International Three Day Event.

A Badminton winner and British Olympic rider in both dressage and eventing, Chris became National Coach to the German Eventing Team, helping them secure team silver and individual gold at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, team and individual gold medals at the London Olympics in 2012 and at the Beijing Olympics in 2008. 

In 2017 he returned home to take on the role of High Performance Coach for the British Eventing Team, alongside Technical Director Dickie Waygood, with more success.

Team GB have since won team and individual gold medals at the World Equestrian Games in 2018, team gold and individual silver at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic, team and all individual medals at the European Championships at in 2021 and the individual gold at the World Championships in Pratoni in 2022. Most recently, Team GB won individual and team gold at the 2023 European Championships at Haras Le Pin, France (watch our interview with Chris and Dickie at the Europeans here)

The Masterclass with Chris Bartle, presented by Equestrian NSW, will be held during the Sydney Three Day Event on Friday 10th November from 5pm in the indoor arena.

He will coach two groups over cross country lines followed by three groups of straight dressage with horses from Novice to Grand Prix. This is an opportunity not to be missed by any equestrian fan and tickets are available here

On Saturday Christopher will be doing a guided walk of the 4* cross country course. This is open to everyone; if you would like to attend, please meet at the front of the stables at 9.30am.

Equestrian NSW will be running clinic for Equestrian Australia coaches with Christopher on Saturday. Judges and officials are also welcome to attend.
