Albury International CCI Horse Trials 2024 - XC Videos
While the EvA classes completed on Saturday at the 2024 Albury International Horse Trials presented by Albury IVF and Blacklocks Isuzu, Sunday was the big day for the International and EvA95 classes.
The Abury IVF CCI4*-S class wrapped up today with a big change on the leaderboard when the overnight leaders after dressage, Sam Jeffree and Santoro slipped down the rankings during showjumping. Shenae Lowings and Chasing Great moved into the lead with a clear round and just 0.8 time penalties while David Middleton riding WEC In The Breeze, third after dressage, withdrew before the showjumping.
But Dave still took the top honours after producing the only double clear cross country round on his Adelaide Equestrian Festival CCI5* winner, WEC In The Money, to move from 18th after dressage to take the win on a score of 42.40.
Shane Rose took second place on Matrixx (44.3) and Teegan Ashby on Magic Mushroom TAE were third (49.70).
International traveller Sophia Hill took the win on Tulara Baltango in the Blacklocks Isuzu Ute CCI3*-S, Lamoza Velisha and her imported horse Call Me Cooley took the Jayco Albury Wodonga CCI2*, Niki Rose claimed the Wallaby Hill CCN1*-S Section A with Cooley All Over, Zoe Hutchison riding WHF Diametric won the Horseland Albury CCN1*-S Section B and Georgina Mutton riding Billagall Foxtrot came out on top of the Treadlite CCN1*-S Section C on board Defying Gravity.
The three overnight leaders of the EvA95 sections all went home with rugs; Paige Cogger riding Churchill MBE won the Bank WAW EvA95A, Shannon Price riding Jenjan Louve took the Jewel Equestrian EvA95B and Grace O’Toole riding Smooch claimed the DJC Environmental EvA95C.
We filmed all horses and riders on cross country and will be back later this week with a full wrap up and riders’ thoughts on their wins (read that full article HERE)
