Quirindi Eventing CCI October XC Videos
It was a beautifully sunny day in Quirindi, NSW for the first day of competition of Quirindi Eventing’s second CCI Horse Trials of the year.
The Boonoona Design CCI4* competitors completed just their dressage on Saturday at Quirindi Racecourse with Queensland’s Justine Streater leading on board the imported mare Quintana on a score of 31.2, just ahead of Shenae Lowings riding the thoroughbred Chasing Great (32) and another thoroughbred in third place (32.30) with another Woodlow Equine team member, Olivia Shore riding Dreamcatcher.
Christine Bates riding Bloomfield Findon and Andrew Barnett on Oscar Park Deluge are battling it out in the Bundella Station CCI3*-S, sharing the lead on 29.70 while Sam Woods (the important half of Woodlow Equine!) leads the Quirindi Plumbing CCI2*-S on board El Dorado (32.60).
While the International classes head out on cross country today, some of the national classes tackled the Quirindi courses with Deon Stokes the absolute standout performer of the day, leading the Quirindi Plumbing EvA80A on board Freycinet II after a stunning dressage test that scored 15.8 – go Deon!
They then completed cross country, adding just 4.4 time penalties to lead the class after both phases on a score of 20.20, nearly 10 penalties ahead of second placed Melinda Ryan riding the interestingly named Suffer In Your Jocks on 29.70!
We’ll be back with more Quirindi after the final day and don’t forget to keep an eye on our Instagram for cross country video snippets!
