Thunderstorms were forecast but the rain held off until a few minutes after the last class of the day at the TRM Equestriad at Camden Bicentennial Park. The weather was humid but not unbearable (unless the sun came out!) and the ground proved lovely for the horses from EvA95 to CCI4*-S to gallop across after recent rain

The EvA95 classes had the coolest weather in the morning when Bianca Evans on Dyrring Park Felix took the Southern Highlands Vet EvA95B on their dressage score of 27.4, Danica Nicholls on Revelwood Chaos won the Icon Building Group EvA95C, also on their dressage score of 31.3. Two big names were on top of the EvA95A with Emma Bishop riding Duchess winning on 30.30 and Hazel Shannon just a smidge behind riding Gretta on 30.50

Emma’s Duchess is probably more her size than her top horse CP Issey Miyake and she told us at Goulburn last year how strange it was to hop from one very big, wide horse to a very narrow, nippy one! Duchess may not be a big horse but she certainly moves like one and could be Emma’s next big (or little) thing

Emma was also riding in the CNC4* on CP Issey Miyake, a class they led from start to finish to take the win on a score of 30.9, adding just two cross country time penalties to their dressage score.

They beat Sam Lyle riding BF Valour, who is showing some very good form this season, taking second place on 37.2 then it was a huge leap in penalties to Sam again in third place on Merran Wallis’ Superclass on 63.90

But the main 4* class, the TRM CCI4*-S was won by Shane Rose on Virgil (26.80) ahead of Hazel Shannon on Willinga Park Clifford and Shane again on Ultimate Velocity (40.50) - read our CCI4* wrap here

       Tim Boland and Napoleon

Tim Boland also had a good day at the office with a win and second place in the Camden Council CCI3*-S on Napoleon (30.10) who was second after the dressage to his stable mate Menlo Park but just pipped him at the post with a slightly faster cross country round.

Tim then added a second place in the Bates Saddles CCI2*-S Section A on board Cooley Down Under to add to his swag of ribbons.

Kim Leibowitz and Widgee Total Tribute

Ahead of Tim in that class was Kim Leibowitz on Widgee Total Tribute, another very talented horse that is fulfilling all the promise he showed as the Young Event Horse winner at Sydney International a few years ago

Widgee Total Tribute was the only horse in this class to finish on his dressage score (32.30), moving up from sixth place to take yet another win

     Debbie Koop and Sandhills Tango

Queensland’s Debbie Kopp was another one to finish on her dressage score, winning the IRT CCI2*-S Section B on board Sandhills Tango on their first visit to Equestriad

Highland Drilling CCN1* Section A was won by Cathryn Herbert on Springs Black Jack HSH, Emma Bickley and Artanas took the Wild Oaks CCN1* Section B and the Horseland Dural CCN1* Section C was won by Kiah Blackley riding Wannabe Famous (who now is)

      Winner, winner!  Ruby Gorton

There could be no doubt that Ruby Gorton was a winner at TRM Equestriad as she proudly held her prize bags of goodies and her first ever winner’s rug

“I’ve been riding for a while but I’ve finally won” said Ruby who was surrounded by friends and family even more excited than she was! Ruby won the Baroona Sport Horses EvA80 Junior, moving up from third place after the dressage with a clear show jumping round and 2.4 time penalties on cross country

Ruby told us more about her winning horse Django who is currently on trial and may well be a 'keeper' after this performance
