The last CCI competition in Australia prior to the Adelaide Equestrian Festival is coming up this weekend at Equestriad at Camden, NSW and there is a definite pre-Adelaide vibe about it.
Classes from EvA60 to CCI4* are taking place at Camden Bicentennial Park on the Easter weekend of 8th and 9th April, but there is also a CCN4.5* and a CT5* (Combined Training) taking place.
The CCI4*-S has eight combinations taking part including Hazel Shannon and Willingapark Clifford, having his first international run since the 2022 World Championships, Shane Rose on Virgil, Dotti, Easy Turn and Be My Daisy, the recent CCI4* winner at Tamworth and Cathryn Herbert riding the Sydney Autumn Classic CCN4* winner, Wimborne Constable and Shenae Lowings on her World Champs horse, Bold Venture
The CCI4* dressage starts at 8am on Saturday morning with two sections being divided by the CCN4.5 and CT competitors that include Sam Jeffree making the journey from Victoria with the big grey Koyuna Tactician, his potential Adelaide CCI5* ride.
Show jumping and cross country for these classes take place on Sunday and we will be seeing a lot of new jumps on course after the event lost most of their equipment and portable fences in the recent floods. Camden is back and this week’s event will be a cracker!
