Equestriad at Camden CCN Eventing 2024 – order or view XC Videos here
Autumn in Camden, NSW is a beautiful time of year and we’re in for two good days of eventing at Equestriad at Camden CCN this weekend.
Eventing Equestriad runs two events each year at Bicentennial Park in Camden, just over an hour south-west of Sydney, with the CCN National competition running on the 18th and 19th May and new dates recently announced for its CCI competition later in the year, moving back a few weeks to the 9th and 10th November 2024.
The committee that run the events is headed by Shane Rose and his wife Niki and, although Shane has been out of action in recent times following a bad fall, it seems that his recovery is back on track, having been spotted driving a bobcat and helping prepare for this event in recent days!
Nearly 550 riders will converge on Camden this weekend with classes from EvA60 to CCN4*. All dressage will take place on Saturday, along with showjumping for the EvA80 competitors and cross country for the EvA60 and EvA95 competitors in the afternoon.
The rest of the classes head out on cross country on Sunday, including the CCN4* class which sees the newly crowned Bates Saddles Young Rider Champions at Adelaide, Olivia Shore and Dreamcatcher, making their debut at this level after finishing second overall in the CCI3*-L at Adelaide.
The Adelaide 3*-L winner Olivia Barton (also currently the highest Australian eventing rider on the FEI World Rankings) has two in the 3* here with Sandhills Gem, winner at Quirindi two weeks ago, and APH Sebastian and, while the Adelaide CCI4* winning horse, Shenae Lowings’ Bold Venture isn’t competing here, she does have another talented off the track thoroughbred Chasing Great in the CCN3*.
Shenae lives locally to Camden, and we caught up with her and her partner Sam Woods at their new business, Woodlow Equine, this week. Stay tuned for much more to come on that very soon.
We’ll be back each day with an update and full wrap up from Camden next week and of course we’re filming all competitors on cross country! Don’t forget to drop by The Eventing Base which is also set up at Camden this weekend for a place to sit, catch up with friends and recharge your batteries (literally and figuratively) as you watch the action.
