Equestriad CCI Horse Trials 2024 XC Videos
The second Equestriad of the year is taking place this weekend (9th & 10th November 2024) at Camden Bicentennial Park, NSW with international level short format classes from CCI2* - 4* plus national classes from EvA65cm to CCN1*.
While Victorian riders dominated the recent CCI at Albury International Horse Trials, just a few combinations from south of the border are heading up to Camden, an hour south of Sydney, but we could see some of them making a mark again.
19 combinations are entered for the CCI4* with Sam Jeffree making the trip from Victoria with two horses – Santoro, who led the 4* at Albury after the dressage and Wimborne Conjuror, and Lamoza Velisha, who won the CCI2*-S at Albury with Call Me Cooley at their first 2* together, is also competing here in the CCI2*.
Christine Bates just missed out on another 3* win at Albury and is again a top contender here with Bloomfield Findon but will have to fend off Andrew Barnett, back competing in Australia after his overseas trip with Oscar Park Deluge in this class and Shane Rose riding Holy Moses.
A busy man at most events with multiple rides, Shane is even busier at Equestriad, his ‘home event’, that is run by an enthusiastic and knowledgeable committee headed by Shane and his wife Niki. Over the years, despite floods and Covid, they have created a top-class event not only for all levels of competitors but great fun for spectators too.
Dressage for all classes is on Saturday with the 4* competitors kicking off the action at 8:30am and returning later in the day for the showjumping. The CCI3* class and EvA80 also showjump on Saturday afternoon while the EvA65 and EvA95 classes complete both dressage and cross country on Saturday.
