Nat Blundell cruised to a win in the Junee Prime Lamb CCN2* at the REA Wagga CCN ODE on Sunday 11th August, winning the class on board JJ Flash.

Nat and JJ Flash did it in style, finishing on their dressage score of 29.10, having led through all three phases, with Junior rider Skye McCullough taking second (35.4) and third (36.8) places riding two off the track thoroughbreds, Absolut Crush and Royal Reggie.

Nat and the 10-year-old gelding JJ Flash have been together for several years now and they have a special bond, with JJ being the progeny of Nat’s past 3* mare Girl With A Girl. This season has seen them take several placings, starting with a fifth place in CCN2* at Sydney Eventing Autumn Classic where Nat told us about her chestnut horse ‘with lairy white legs’ that has ‘a pony way of going – he’s very smart, very clever and very spooky!’ (watch that interview with Nat here).

Emily Hill riding APH Larrikin moved into the lead of the Matavia Performance Horses CCN1* on Saturday thanks to a clear showjumping round and another double clear around the cross country course on Sunday secured the win.

Emily and APH Larrikin also finished on their dressage score of 27.8, while the dressage leader Georgia Spangaro had to settle for second place on her off the track thoroughbred Lord Wimborne, who also jumped double clear on Sunday’s cross country but had one rail down in the showjumping to finish on 29.3 while Tania Harding riding Jirrima Fox Z took third (31.3)

Victorian rider and coach Edith Kane made the trip to NSW worthwhile with a win in the Jenquine EvA95A riding APH Alpine and Charlotte Chilvers riding Kellerains Divine Love took the Equissage EvA95B.

Nat Blundell also scored a win in the Fisher and Farmer Homewares EvA80A, this time riding Henbury Charlie, Stephen Mannix riding Lenny won the Moses & Son EvA80B and Freya Bryant on her off the track thoroughbred Royal Star Arlington Way took the Horseland Wagga Wagga EvA80 Junior class.

The Collaborative Health EvA65A & B classes were won by Pam Kennedy riding Nawarrah Park Prince Harry and Carlene Barton (keeping busy with the young APH horses while her Olivia is overseas!) riding APH Soloman with the Grain and Mane EvA65 Junior won by Phoebe Apps on Shars Prince.

Melinda Floyd riding Tywysog Coch (who surely must be a Welsh cob!) won the Judd’s Horse Supplies EvA50. Well done to all!
