Merran Wallis and Our Congrats
Amanda Ross may have been on a shopping trip to Europe for some lovely horses recently but it was the Australian bred 11 year old thoroughbred mare Koko Popping Candy, produced by Rob and Cassie Palm, that took the lead in the Bates Saddles CCI3* on Friday at the Sydney International Horse Trials
They lead on a score of 27.20, just marginally ahead of Christine Bates on Adelaide Hill (27.60) and Emma Bishop on CP Issey Miyake (28.90), two combinations that are on cracking form, which should make for a very exciting cross country day
While the regular eventing classes started their competition on Friday, the horses in the Wade Equine Coaches Young Event Horse class started and finished on the same day with three new champions crowned;
4YO: Our Congrats ridden by Merran Wallis
5YO: Equus Helenik ridden by Sophie Adams
6YO: Daleena Daydream ridden by Stuart Tinney
It certainly was a case of Our Congrats for Merran who also took the overall Young Event Horse Championship title
