The Queensland International 3 Day Event, originally to be held in July, may yet make an appearance in some form later in the year
The event, which should have hosted classes from CCI4*-L and CCI4*-S down to EvQ60 and the Queensland State Eventing Championships, is hosted by the Tamborine Equestrian Group (TEG) who have now pencilled in the dates of October 31st and November 1st for an event with ‘details to be confirmed’
It may be a case of ‘watch this space’ but it is encouraging news as Australia resumes eventing training in limited numbers and organisers are starting to announce possible dates
“We probably won’t run a long format” says Charlotte Price “We’re still working on details of the potential events but keep working those horses as things are going to start happening!”
Two clinics – a David Finch Jumping Clinic and Brett Cantle Cross Country Clinic – are already planned for June and TEG training days are currently scheduled for August and September at Kelecyn Equestrian Centre if Covid-19 continues to be kept under control in Australia
Visitors from interstate are still unable to cross the border into Queensland and it looks set to stay that way for a while with the Queensland Premier wanting NSW and Victoria to record no local cases of coronavirus for one month before she will reopen the state's borders. But hopefully the restrictions will be eased by late October when we are scheduled to be heading north to bring you whatever version of the Queensland International 3 Day Event takes place!
