Queensland International 3 Day Event 2024 – XC Videos
The Steelworks Construction Queensland 3 Day Event (26th – 29th September) gets underway on Thursday with the first horse inspection, so get ready for some frills and flounces with the Spring Racing Carnival theme for the first trot up.
Organised by the Tamborine Equestrian Group headed by Charlotte Price, sister-in-law of Australian Olympian Kevin McNab, the Queensland 3DE is the only long-format competition during the year in Queensland and one of just five held in Australia. Usually held during July, the competition dates were changed this year, and the event has seen a great uptake in entries, including Kevin’s teammate at Paris 2024, Shane Rose and his wife Niki bringing a truckful of horses.
The event is hosting a large range of classes with International level competition at CCI4* (long and short format), CCI3* (long and short format) and CCI2*-L. National level competitors also get to experience a long format competition with the CCN1*-L plus the one day format EvA80, EvA95 and EvQ65 classes.
For once the interstate competitors outnumber the locals in the 4* classes with Shane Rose, Jess Somerfield, Teegan Ashby and Jade Findlay coming north from NSW and Yona Lloyd coming even further from Victoria.
There will be plenty of fun at the event outside of the eventing action with live music at the Saturday night dinner in the VIP Marquee and an unusual Eventers Challenge involving inflatable outfits (we can’t wait to see what Shane Rose gets up to in these ….)
We’re filming all competitors on cross country at this very beautiful venue on the Scenic Rim in (hopefully sunny) Southern Queensland – stay tuned to our socials for updates during the event and our website for full reports!
