Samuel Fasher and Sulitanos lead the CCN4*-S at the REC Equine Specialists Sydney Eventing Summer Classic after dressage and show jumping on Saturday at the Sydney International Equestrian Centre
Sam and the 16-year-old Oldenburger, who has the dressage stallion Sir Donnerhall as his sire, put in a very good test to score 29.10, just pipping Emma Bishop and CP Issey Miyake into second place on 29.30 while Heath Ryan riding Bronze Boy R were sitting in third on 32.6
The afternoon’s show jumping saw Sam and Sulitanos roll one pole in the grass arena, leaving them on 33.10 but, when Emma and Heath both had rails down, they maintained their lead. Another Sam, this time Sam Lyle riding the 11-year-old BF Valour, moved into second place thanks to a clear show jumping to go into the cross country phase on his dressage score of 34.2

Emma Mason also stayed on her dressage score of 36.80 to move up from eighth place into third.
Rachael Lee produced two of the five clear show jumping rounds in this class to move into fourth and sixth places on Amigo and Chicobella, with Shane Rose’s Stakkino sandwiched in between in fifth place. Just six penalties separate the top six who head out on cross country tomorrow afternoon
