Sadly, with the Queensland border still closed to Victorian residents, we cannot be at the Tamborine Steelworks CCN One Day Event this weekend
But we’re keeping an eye on proceedings at the event held on the lush (especially after all the recent rain!) property at Kelecyn, where the event is held. If the Kelecyn prefix is familiar it is because of its association with Australia’s Kevin McNab who part owns the property with his brother Dale and sister-in-law Charlotte Price, who are running the event as part of the Tamborine Equestrian Group this weekend (find out more about Kelecyn, CPM Equestrian and McNab Eventing in our interview with Charlotte here)
On the other side of the world, Australia’s Olympic silver team medallist Kevin is of course competing in the CCI5* at Les Etoiles de Pau and hopefully continuing his streak of good results in recent months
This weekend’s event at Tamborine, the Steelworks CCN ODE is taking place on Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st October with classes from EvQ65 to CCN2* plus a CCN3* Combined Training class
After Saturday’s competition, Justine Streater riding Arnage Quintina have taken the Wilson Family CCN3* Combined Training while the other classes still have cross country to go on Sunday
Debbie Kopp riding Golden Leo leads the West Vets CCN2* and Vanessa Brown leads the Schooley Family CCN1* on board Immenhof Wonderland
Vanessa and Immenhof Wonderland (video above) won the EvA95 class at Tamborine (1) in May this year (when we managed to get across the borders during a short window of ‘no-Covid lockdown’ opportunity!) and they are no doubt hoping for another great cross country ride tomorrow
