There is just one CCI4* competition taking place on the entire FEI Calendar this weekend and the spotlight is on Australia!

Tamworth International Eventing (TIE) is hosting its first event of the year, with its CCI/CCN competition at the Australian Equine and Livestock Centre (AELEC) in Tamworth, NSW on 22nd & 23rd March 2025.

24 combinations will be coming forward for the Britt Grovenor Photography CCI4*-S with a bevy of NSW riders joined by Queensland’s Andrew Cooper with two in the class – Hey Arnold and Sharvalley Thunder – and Victoria’s Georgia Tivendale riding Bellevue Hill. While Georgia kicked off her season in the CCI3*-S at Tonimbuk International Horse Trials two weeks ago, Andrew’s local CCI at Tamborine was cancelled thanks to Tropical Cyclone Alfred so it will be the first big run of the season for his two.

Emma Mason and KPH Kingfisher will be looking to continue their winning ways here, following their win in the CCN4* at Sydney Eventing Autumn Classic and Hazel Shannon will be looking for redemption after being eliminated in the showjumping there for jumping the wrong fence on Willingapark Clifford!

Shane Rose has three in the CCI4* with Holy Moses moving up to tackle his first 4*, having racked up some great performances at 3* level, while The Bandit and Matrixx have one season of 4* under their belts, both with wins in 2024.

Liv Shore also has two in Eliva Castana, who just stepped up to this level at Sydney Eventing Autumn Classic with third place in the CCN4* and Dreamcatcher, and we’re delighted to see last year’s CCI4* winner here, Wimborne Constable making his return to eventing. Catie Herbert and the black stallion Wimborne Constable have already been out and about at top level dressage competitions this season, earning top placings so watch out for some great dressage on Saturday afternoon!

The 4* competitors also show jump on Saturday, as do the CCI3*-S, CCI2*-S and EvA65 classes with those classes heading out on cross country on Sunday. The other national classes - from EvA50, including our favourite Foxy Old Girls Amateur Over 50, to CCN1* - will go cross country on Saturday afternoon.

It will be a busy weekend at the purpose-built facility at AELEC and of course we’ll be there capturing all horses and riders on cross country and bringing you daily reports on the website. Plus keep an eye on our social pages for updates throughout!
