Tayah Andrew and Silver Force competing at the 2016 Australian International 3 Day Event
The 2017 Oceania Championships junior team has changed complexion with Hannah Lewindon having to withdraw due to her horse Veretti sustaining a minor injury that has rendered him unable to compete at the Melbourne International Three Day Event.
Lewindon will now be replaced by talented Western Australian rider Tayah Andrew (Silver Force).
The amended 2017 Oceania Championships Junior Team is:
• Olivia Barton & APH Bertie Bad
• Tayah Andrew & Silver Force
• Shenae Lowings & Venture Sky High
• Gemma Tinney & Annapurna
17-year-old Andrew is considered one of the West’s most exciting young eventers and has been riding since she was just two years old. She currently works as a trackwork rider for some of Perth’s leading racehorse stables and spends a large part of her year training with NSW based coaches Heath and Rozzie Ryan.
“It’s quite huge to be named on the team. I’m very excited and just want to be over there already,” Andrew said.
“It will be great experience being on the team with riders like Stuart Tinney and get all their opinions and get known by them,” she said.
Andrew’s Thoroughbred mount, Silver Force, is already across in Victoria at his part-owner Wayne Kylie’s property so has had plenty of time to acclimatise for next month’s Melbourne International Three Day Event at Werribee Park where the Oceania Championships will be hosted.
The last major event that Andrew and Silver Force competed at together was the CCI2* class at last year’s Adelaide International Three Day Event where they finished 13th.
