The 2025 Wandin Park International Horse Trials, scheduled to take place on 22nd and 23rd March, has been cancelled.
The popular event held in the Yarra Valley, just outside of Melbourne, suffered a sad loss with the death of John Anker, owner of Wandin Park and the driving force behind the big eventing competition held there each year, on December 26th 2024.
The event is usually the second CCI4*-S competition on the Australian eventing calendar, following Tonimbuk International Horse Trials two weeks earlier, and has been a regular fixture on the Australian calendar for many years.
In a statement on its website, Wandin Park Horse Trials say that
“The Anker family, along with The Wandin Park Association Inc committee, have given great consideration to the following decision, but we had unfortunately come to the conclusion that due to personal circumstances we will sadly have to cancel this year’s Horseland Wandin Park International Horse Event.
We appreciate the continued support of our community and look forward to welcoming everyone back to Wandin Park in 2026”
