An Eventful Life will be filming all competitors on cross country at Sydney Eventing Summer Fundraiser
Part of the fun of being one of the first at an event is that you get to see some of the final preparations and incoming arrivals as people start to bed in for the weekend
This weekend at the Sydney International Equestrian Centre more than 400 riders will be descending on Horsley Park for Sydney Eventing Summer Fundraiser to compete from EvA60 up to CNC3*.
Today young competitors, still in their school uniform, hot footed it out to the cross country to check out the EvA60 course they will ride tomorrow while, at the other end of the spectrum, the CNC2* and 3* competitors are also readying for an early start with their competition starting and finishing tomorrow
A few in the CNC classes and the Combined Training classes are taking advantage of this event before leaving for Adelaide.
Stuart Tinney, also cross country course designer here, is riding his CCI4* entry War Hawk in the CNC3*, Tim Boland has brought Adelaide competitors Napoleon and GV Billy Elliott and all competitors in the Combined Training 3*, apart from Sam Fasher and Sulitanos, are entered in the CIC3* at the Mitsubishi Motors Australian International 3 Day Event next week
Surely this is still one of the coolest fences in the world?
There could be no better place to prepare for the biggest annual competition in Australia than the venue for the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. Every time I come back, it strikes me what an amazing venue this is and how, when they talk of ‘Olympic legacy’ this is such a good example
The weather is set to be perfect for eventing, 23 degrees and partly sunny, the grounds look fabulous, the courses and our cross country video cameras are set so we’ll see you there and smile at the camera!
We're ready to roll ............
