Shane Rose and Ultimate Velocity
An Eventful Life filmed all competitors on cross country at the
Mitsubishi Motors Australian International 3 Day Event - find out more here
Shane Rose may not have had a horse entered in the CCI4* at the Mitsubishi Motors Australian International 3 Day Event this year but he made up for it by winning the CCI2* on the six year old Easy Turn and the CIC3* on board Ultimate Velocity, a horse he bought earlier this year (watch our interview with Shane here where he talks about both horses)
Shane and Ultimate Velocity moved up from third after the dressage to take the win thanks to the second fastest cross country round of the day (watch their full cross country ride here) and then added just one rail and three time penalties in the show jumping
Victoria’s Callum Buczak was close behind Shane after the cross country with the fastest round of the day and just 1.8 penalties separated them heading into the show jumping. But two rails gave Shane a bit of breathing space and Callum had to settle for second place on board Matavia Cheval, the gelding he has brought on since it was a two year old and past Young Event Horse winner
Another Victorian rider, Andrew Cooper also moved up quite a few placings after the dressage. A strong cross country ride and just one very unlucky last rail in the show jumping (Andrew and Callum were the only riders to make the show jumping time in this big arena) saw him finish in third place on board Madeline Wilson’s Oaks Onyx
