Arden Lee and Doc Hollywood caught our eye!

We’ve got lots of articles and interviews coming up in a few days from last weekend’s competition at the Gisborne Pony Club Horse Trials but we thought we’d kick it all off with a look at some of our favourite colour co-ordination from the day

The respective colours of Pony Clubs naturally lend themselves to a chance to co-ordinate a few accessories but there were some stand-outs on Sunday that we felt deserved a mention

Arden Lee and Doc Hollywood were the first to catch our eye in the Pony Club Grade 4. The co-ordination of the outfit was good but matching the blue with Doc Hollywood’s eyes made it even more entrancing (and we liked the toch with the co-ordinated socks!)

The winner of the Pony Club Grade 3, Charlotte Armstrong and ESB Golden Musician had some good colour co-ordination going on and the blue/red theme was matched later in the day by a somewhat smaller version as Clara Greenwood and Dotti scooted around the Pony Club Grade 5 course. In both cases, the girls were co-ordinated right down to their stirrups!

But the stand-out horse/rider matching outfit of the day was Addison Draper and Be My Diva who were competing in the Open Grade 5

It was a picture in pink, from the pink front boots and ear muffs to the pom-pom and reins – good job Addison!

Addison was one of the younger riders competing and we’ve got some great interviews coming up soon about how Gisborne Pony Club works hard to attract new riders and how they introduce young rider and their families to the ins and outs of eventing through the Gisborne Gallopers Programme

We’ll also be finding out more about the winners of this year’s Horse Trials and showing you some of their cross country videos so keep checking back for more ….
