Gemma Tinney - Young Athlete of the Year
The winners of the Equestrian Australia Awards have been announced. The Awards underwent a format change this year, allowing EA Members to vote for the first time ever.
Whilst acknowledging top performing athletes and horses throughout 2017, the Awards also recognise the extraordinary achievements and dedication of the many others who contribute to equestrian sport in Australia.
Equestrian Australia Chair Judy Fasher congratulated all recipients saying “Equestrian Australia is proud of all our award winners. We understand the enormous effort that goes into winning these awards. We salute you”
Many of the winners are from the world of eventing with Rachel Watts (Head Groom for Shane Rose), Kate Mackenzie (organiser of Canberra Horse Trials), Sam Lyle (coach and rider) and Gemma Tinney (rider) all taking honours while the Saddleworld Melbourne International 3 Day Event took the honour for top event of the year
