It seems that Megan Jones has another grey star in her stable to fill the very large shoes of her silver medal winning Kirby Park Irish Jester.
“He’s my unicorn” laughs Megan “Jester was my first unicorn and now I’ve got a second one, I’m a very lucky girl”
Just one year after competing at EvA105 level at Albury, the 11 year old Warmblood/Andalusian cross gelding History, delighted Megan at his first 3* start at the Albury Wodonga International Horse Trials in a fiercely competitive class
“His owner Sadie Michell couldn’t believe it when I rang her and said that he had come fifth. We had quite a few time penalties on cross country which I know we can improve on as I wasn’t pushing it so it’s just a fantastic start”
Megan is now focussing on a strong result at the Melbourne International 3 Day Event in June for History while several other young horses in the MJET team also look to have a good career ahead. She told us more about her weekend at Albury and her new ‘unicorn’
