Samantha (Sam) Jones has been appointed the new CEO of Equestrian Australia (EA).
Sam, who has been acting CEO since July this year, was the successful candidate for the role following ‘an extensive process to recruit for the position of CEO for Equestrian Australia (EA), which saw over 110 well qualified and experienced applicants for the role’ says the EA press release.
“A keen dressage competitor, Sam brings a lifelong involvement in horses in the UK and NZ as well as a breadth of experience in management and equestrian sports administration and will be responsible for overseeing EA as we improve and strengthen our organisation for the next generation.
Throughout her career, Sam has demonstrated an ability to achieve financial sustainability and governance reform, notably during her tenure as Chief Executive of the New Zealand Pony Clubs Association (NZPCA). Under Sam’s leadership, the NZPCA earned the prestigious Sport NZ Governance Mark, through transformation of governance structures, health and safety standards, and financial transparency”
Sam has also fulfilled previous roles as General Manager of Sport Operations at EA and Community Development Manager at Equestrian Sports New Zealand as well as acting as Shadow Chef d'Equipe for the New Zealand Dressage Team at the World Equestrian Games.
