Clarke and Balmoral Sensation start the year with a win
New Zealand's Clarke Johnstone has started the year with a win on his Olympic horse Balmoral Sensation. But it wasn't in eventing; Clarke was getting some practise in the show jumping arena, competing in the 2017 Alltech Auckland Championships Premier Showjumping Show at Woodhill Sands in Auckland.
Clarke and Balmoral Sensation were competing in the Alltech Horse 1.25m Welcome Stakes and they won the Eventers Award which was incorporated into the class.
Clarke and his horses will be based in the Southern Hemisphere this year but a quick trip to Melbourne or Adelaide may be on the cards in 2017, as Clarke told us in our interview just before Christmas
