Amanda 'Muzi' Pottinger may not have had a horse in the 3* at Puhinui International Horse Trials as her top horse, Just Kidding, had just returned from the Australian International 3 Day Event in Adelaide but she still had a very good event. Amanda won the Veterinary Associates CCI1* at Puhinui on the seven-year-old thoroughbred, Good Timing, who also earned himself the JLT Bloodstock Young Horse title
They had been the ‘bridesmaid’ for most of the event, in second place to Emily Cammock riding Antara during the dressage and cross country phases, but a clear show jumping round sealed the win on the last day when Emily had one rail down, dropping her to sixth place (33.8) in a very competitive class. Just one time fault meant that Monica Oakley held onto fifth place (33.6) on Artist while a clear round on her other seven year old, Festival, moved her from third into second place (30.8) and two big jumps up the leader board moved Christen Lane and Alana Dorotich into third and fourth places

Both riders finished on a score of 33.4 but Christen claimed third place riding Henton Armada, having moved up from 13th after the dressage and Alana made an even bigger jump from 27th after dressage into fourth place riding Donner XS, with the top four all finishing on their dressage score
The highest place Junior rider in the class was 19 year old Vicky Browne-Cole riding the seven year old thoroughbred grey mare Cutting Edge, winners of the Equissage Junior Rider title. They finished in eighth place overall, starting on a score of 32.70 in the dressage, jumping a double clear cross country round and adding one rail in the show jumping
