“I’ve never been in the lead after the dressage at an event like this” admits Renee Faulkner, who today took the lead in the Auckland Council CCI4*-L at the Puhinui International 3 Day Event in New Zealand
Renee and her 14-year-old grey gelding Rubinstar HH took the lead on a score of 31.8 penalties. Close behind is Christen Lane riding Thunder Cat (32.6) and Clarke Johnstone riding Aces High in third (32.7). There were plenty of horses having a good look around them in the new arena today and a few didn’t seem to settle at all but Renee’s ‘pony’ didn’t mind the atmosphere a bit, having recently competed at Equitana New Zealand
Clarke leads the CNC1*-L riding Watermill Hadley on a score of 26.1, Jock Paget is on top in the Veterinary Associates CCI2*-L on board the delightfully named Bing Bong (our full interview coming up with Jock soon, but a little explanation about his horse names in the snippet below) and Monica Oakley leads the Gilmours CCI3*-L riding Artist (25.1)
