Tim Price took time out from his competing for New Zealand at CHIO Aachen to connect with his homeland via video at the Equestrian Sports New Zealand (ESNZ) Annual Hall of Fame Awards
UK-based Tim, currently ranked the World Number One Eventing rider, won the 2022 Rider of the Year Award, which was remotely presented from the ESNZ Awards celebration in Christchurch, NZ thanks to an exceptional eventing season in 2022, placing New Zealand on the international podium four times.
He was the winner of the FEI National Cup CCI4* at Boekelo (October 2022), the CCI5*L at Maryland at Fair Hill, USA (October 2022) plus took individual and team bronze medals at the World Eventing Championships, Pratoni 2022 in Italy (September 2022), ending a 12-year drought of Championship team medals for New Zealand.
An eventing horse also shared the National Horse of the Year Award with Matthew Grayling’s 16-year-old warmblood Trudeau, who set a new record of five consecutive 4* National Three-Day and One-Day titles
Charlotte Penny won Eventing Youth of the Year (under 24 years of age) who was a member of the winning NZ Young Rider Oceania Team at the 2022 Melbourne International 3DE and is currently in second place in the New Zealand Young Rider series.
