CP Qualified on cross country was 'rideable, very brave and quite fast!' says Shane
The 2016 Saddleworld Melbourne International 3 Day Event hosted not only the usual CCI3* class, won by Stuart Tinney riding War Hawk, but also a special CIC3* class which was dominated by the three riders based in Australia who are hoping to be selected for Rio; Shane Rose, Stuart Tinney and Sonja Johnson who finishing in first, second and third places
Shane won the class by a considerable margin on CP Qualified with a score of 40.20, having added just 1.6 time penalties on cross country to their dressage score of 38.6 while his second horse Virgil was scratched from the event due to a minor illness
We talked to Shane after the event finished and caught up with his plans for the next few months which include Aachen, the UK and hopefully Rio
