The equestrian sport of eventing is one of the world’s most demanding and thrilling sports, requiring athleticism, bravery and a special partnership between horse and rider. Equestrian is also the only Olympic sport in which men and women compete directly against one another. Australia’s eventing riders are admired around the equestrian world and their medal winning achievements at Olympic and World Equestrian Games are testament to the quality of eventing riders produced in Australia.
In August 2016, a team representing Australia will be competing in the eventing competition at the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games in Rio, South America. Three riders based in Australia are currently in contention for selection to represent Australia at the Olympics. They are;
Shane Rose, Sonja Johnson and Stuart Tinney (OAM)
A casual fundraising dinner will be held on Friday, 24th June at the Glenorie RSL, Glenorie, to assist the Australian based riders who achieve selection to represent Australia at the Olympic Games. We are seeking a variety of gifts for a blind auction. This will give companies market exposure to an equestrian audience. In addition, companies can make TAX DEDUCTIBLE donations (info below).
There is also the opportunity to purchase tickets to the night, and join us at this great event and enjoy an evening with the Rio Trio.
Funds raised will be divided between the Australian based riders and horses that are successful in the final selection to represent Australia and travel to team camp in the UK prior to their trip to Rio.
Sponsorship and donations will provide opportunities for exposure of your company to an equestrian audience through a variety of avenues - by publicity via social media plus the ability to showcase and display your products and gifts on the evening.
Your donation to, and participation in this function would be of great assistance to these riders at a critical time and we hope you will join us in offering your support and giving them a 'Leg up to Rio'
