In a sad blow to the Rose family and the Australian eventing community, John Rose has passed away.
Shane Rose’s father John has been a huge supporter of his son’s career and was a well known part of the NSW eventing community. Our thoughts are with his wife Penny and the Rose family at this time
Shane will continue to compete at the Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials this week, as would have been his father’s wish. A message on the Shane Rose Eventing Team page reads
“Shane would sincerely like to thank everyone for their kind messages and offers of support following the passing of his Dad, John. The family will treasure the time they spent together last weekend. John was a supportive and very proud father and will be missed greatly not only by his family but everyone that met him and enjoyed his generous nature and friendly banter. As John would have wanted Shane is now looking ahead and focusing on competing at Badminton Horse Trials this week. Thanks everyone for your support, we know that Shane and Nugget will have a guardian angel riding with them this weekend”
