Stuart Tinney’s top horse Celebration, the winner of the Olympic class at Sydney International 3 Day Event in May, is out of contention for Tokyo 2020 due a paddock injury

"Unfortunately, the beautiful 'Celebration' (Charlie) has sustained an unforeseen paddock injury, making the timing of Tokyo no longer work for us as we will not risk his bright future. Best to save him for another day"

"This has been unimaginable news for us all and the team that surrounds ‘Charlie’. A horse of such strength, talent and solidity, fit and ready to carry the Australian flag, it has been a very tough few days for us all” says a joint statement from Elisabeth Brinton and Robert Utley, owners of Celebration, and double Olympic medallist Stuart Tinney OAM

“We understand the ups and downs of this sport, but this time it has been an emotional blow for all. We have so much love for 'Charlie' as well as trust. ‘Charlie’ has an amazing future, he is still young, so we consider this only to be a minor timing set-back and are looking forward to his return immensely”

Stuart still has Leporis, who finished third at the Sydney International 3 Day Event, in contention for selection with the official nomination announcement from Equestrian Australia scheduled for June 25th
