“I’m a creature of habit and I love going to Oasby” says Piggy March, who took eight horses to Oasby (1) in April.
One of these horses was Our Old Fella and he isn’t the usual type that Piggy rides; a 10-year-old 15.2h off the track thoroughbred owned by Piggy’s great friend Jayne McGivern
When asked to try him, Piggy admits she ‘needed that like a hole in the head!’ but Piggy has fallen in love with this little horse who is as ‘cute as a button’
“There’s something about a thoroughbred horse, when they’re very intelligent, sharp and athletic – they can be absolutely great” says Piggy
Our Old Fella won a Novice class at Oasby (1) as Piggy describes in her vlog below (we’re loving this series by Piggy), also winning one of our cross country videos (above) and you can see how much he loves his job
It’s a great testament to the nature and ability of the thoroughbred who are versatile enough to have many careers during their lives and we know that many riders and owners of eventing thoroughbreds will love Piggy’s video and talk about this little one that has stolen her heart
