Gucci at Berkshire College
Well I can’t believe we are half way through the eventing season already, it seems to have flown by very quickly! Lulu has had a few good runs so far and I am hoping to step her up to the next level by the end of the season. She is on a strict training programme now to try and strengthen her up as much as possible in order to make our job easier. She now goes on the water treadmill once or twice a week and many thanks to Equine Aqua Training for all their help; Lulu seems to enjoy the treadmill and goes on like a pro!
There are a few new faces that have joined the team this month. First, Gucci, a 6yo French mare that has competed in a few novices - she is very smart and such a happy pony! I am quite excited about her and am hoping to take her to the 6yo champs at the end of the year.
Ninja has arrived!
Jockey Club Martial King finally arrived from Hong Kong. He is a 6yo chestnut gelding that was actually bred in the UK and raced here before being sold to HK where he only ran for one season. I have called him Ninja and he is very, very similar to my superstar ex-racer Harry so fingers crossed that Ninja learns a few tricks from his new neighbour!!
A few friends are coming to visit soon, so I am looking forward to catching up with them. I had a rare afternoon off with one of my best friends last week when she was over for a quick visit via a business trip. We went shopping for the afternoon and then went into London to watch The Lion King musical. It was a great day and nice to have some time out doing something different!
The next couple of weeks are quite busy. I have a few events coming up and then I should be heading up to stay with Pigs (Piggy French) for a few days training, so lots to look forward to and keep me busy!!!
