Marble in action at Aldon
Happy New Year to everyone. I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and all had fun over the festive season. The last few months have flown by and it is only 8 weeks away from the start of the new eventing season here in the UK. I had a great finish to last season with Marble, who finished 4th in his first International competition at Aldon in the CCI*. He was absolutely amazing and really rose to the game. He has had a well-deserved holiday and is now starting work ready for this season.
I made an escape from the bad weather here and went to Hong Kong for a couple of weeks just before Christmas. It was nice to be back and see my friends over there and I also did some teaching while I was there. Along with that was the usual food and shopping that must be done!
The ice castle at Winter Wonderland
I also went to the Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park which is like a Christmas market mixed with a funfair with a few added attractions like the ice skating, ice sculptures and circus. The ice sculptures were quite amazing and there was a castle made from ice complete with a real slide! It was -8c inside the exhibition so it was a struggle to stay in there for more than 20 mins as it was just so cold, luckily there was a hot chocolate stop towards the end to warm you up!
The last few weeks have been quite tough with the weather being so bad. The wind and rain isn't a good combination with riding outdoors! There has been lots of flooding in our area and we even lost power for nearly two days at the yard, madness. Anyway, life goes on and I have to start thinking about getting these horses fit for the season.
Will update you all again soon
