Sunset near the office
Hello everyone!
I hope you are all well!
If the Olympics would have happened this year, by now everything will be finished and we would have just three weeks to go for the Paralympics!
The rainy season lasted forever this year, and we are now experiencing the lovely heat of summer in Japan, but at least with some nice clear evenings.
There were a lot of mixed feelings in the past weeks, and everything seemed so weird without the Games, especially celebrating the 1 Year To Go milestone instead of having the Opening Ceremony..
The travel ban in Japan is still active, but everyone can travel domestically, so I took some time off to go to Okinawa, and lying on a beach doing nothing all day definitely helped coping with the postponement.

Everything in the office is progressing and we are quite busy dealing with all the departments that are updating and confirming plans with contractors, suppliers etc. and are also visiting both venues, the Equestrian Park and Sea Forest Cross-country course, to monitor all the layouts and facilities.
The main task we have at the moment is to try to reduce the budget, ensuring that all the requirements are met. It will definitely be another busy year for everyone in Tokyo!
Roll on 2021...350 days to go!
