Aggy (standing) watching over Belle, Mira and even Kita having a snooze
It’s been a long while since my last blog and there’s also even more we need to catch up on! So to welcome back the monthly blogs for An Eventful Life I’ll need to introduce everyone to the four new additions of the Wyuna clan.
Just before we left for the World Equestrian Games to watch Shane Rose and our CP Qualified compete we kept under our hats an exciting new mare. CP Qualified didn’t end up competing in the Games, as An Eventful Life reported during the time, but that’s horses and the future is always promising for the pair.
Since we purchased CP Qualified in 2012 mum has been scanning the equestrian world to find his progeny. Being gelded late, they are far and few between. So when Wallaroo Agatha, a jumping broodmare, came in sight she was quickly snatched up. Wallaroo Agatha (Aggy) is sired by CP Qualified out of a thoroughbred mare, and is closely related to Lauren Balcombe’s Kootamootoo. To add to her value and excitement even more she was in foal to the Hanoverian stallion Now On Top, and boy is this filly stunning! Underneath is a chart of the filly's breeding with Now On Top's breeding in black and CP Qualified (sire of Wallaroo Agatha) in white
Belle (Wyuna Top Quality) and Aggy (Wallaroo Agatha)
As you can see, there are some serious jumping bloodlines in this foal from both her parents. The filly was born black, but will develop into a Dapple Grey, she’ll mature 17hh if not taller, she has long athletic legs, a great length of stride and gallop, elegance is her middle name. Her name is Belle, and keeping her sire and our favourite grandsire in her name her show name will be Wyuna Top Quality, incorporating the Now On Top and CP Qualified legacy.
This year seemed to be the one of family and bloodlines. Another mare we purchased last year, with a foal at foot, is a foal of the founding sire here at Wyuna. Hammers High Fashion has sired my coloured mare Wyuna Take a Chance and burnt buckskin gelding Wyuna First Sun. This mare’s name is Kita Fashion or Kita. Kita was in foal to the same sire as the yearling we currently have and had a gorgeous jet black filly. We named this filly Mira, or Wyuna Black Magic. Mira is a purebred solid paint who’ll possibly mature 15hh-15.2hh. She’s a solid built girl with a big bum coupled with a sweet head and slender legs.

So there you have it, our four (mainly two) new additions to the Wyuna team. It’s seriously fun to have the foals around and Belle is particularly interested in watching me as I ride the horses in work. Surely she’s practising in the paddock for when she becomes a superstar in her own right. I’ll leave you with more pictures of the fillies and will be back for a competition update next month.
Bye!
