The perfect spot for Aussie Rules Photo: Mitsubishi Motors/Kit Houghton
Today we arrived at Badminton. The weather is beautiful at the moment and the forecast looks promising. They have been kind enough to put us up in Badminton House itself. Mind you it is enormous with who knows how many rooms.
All the Australians are stabled together. There is Paul Tapner, Chris Burton, myself and then Sam Griffiths has 2 horses in.
I had a kick of the Aussie rules football on the lawn with my children. Pretty good grass for the game I have to say. I wonder if the Duke of Beaufort minded. The kids certainly didn't. Briefing and trot up tomorrow as well as the first look at the course. Dressage for me will probably be on Saturday for me but we will have to wait until after trot up to see exactly when.
So far I have been keeping the nerves in check by focusing on the preparation but tomorrow I think there might be some butterflies starting to gather. At least I will have something to focus them on after I walk the course and see the dressage in the crowded stadium.
Anyway, I will be back with another update tomorrow I assume.
Take care,
Murray.
