Jade is usually always there - but she's a long way away at the moment
Well I had a sad afternoon last week. I said goodbye to Jade and Indi and Noah as well as Liz and Sarah our excellent grooms after Badminton. We got back from a whirlwind get away that took in Paris, Rome and Crete. Back only a couple of days and they have flown home. Back to work for me with the horse. We will go to Luhmuhlen and then on to Aachen which sounds very exciting and I believe we can substantially improve on the Badminton efforts.
It's funny how everything goes through phases and cycles. After a holiday and the family going home I thought it would be hectic and full steam ahead.
Ninja was a bit stiff in general although quite ok, so that took time to get his body working as before Badminton. Also, while on holiday, you quietly mull over the happenings and set a plan to improve the performance. This means starting slow with some trial and error but we can't dally too long. Dressage and show jumping in particular have good margins to increase results. I think we are settling into good progress and beginning to build momentum and focus again.
Ninja and I will train at Gilbert Bockmann's in Germany in between Luhmuhlen and Aachen (this sounds like someone else's life, not mine).
Lastly I feel for Jade who has to juggle our equestrian business, the children and her real job at home while I pretend to be important over here. I miss my family beyond words.
Talk again soon,
Murray.
