Under the Clocks came off the tough cross country with ears pricked and feeling good
It is the week after Burghley Horse Trials and we have a lot of thinking forward and reflecting back to do. Under The Clocks was fantastic and finished 10th in our first visit to the big event.
He finished so well and happy with himself. Looking at the video of the cross country he really does make it look deceptively easy. I wasn't even sure if riders were going to say it was a difficult course or not because Ninja seemed to do it well within himself.
We are becoming more the competitors over time and slowly closing the gap on the amazing riders at the top. Under The Clocks biggest asset has always been that he continues to try every day. He never gives up and always improves. What a partner!
I want to thank everyone who supports us with their time and efforts both at home and abroad. From Warren and Susie Lamperd who have Ninja, to Richard and Jane Denny who gave me somewhere to stay, and Richard Bandey a point to point trainer who lent me his lorry for the week. Without such generosity and goodwill we could never do this.
I wonder what will happen next year.
On a last note, I will be home in later September and need to fill the summer with teaching and riding if we are to keep this going. If anyone wants clinics or camps etc then feel free to contact me.
Thanks,
Murray
