I am on my way back to Lastrup from Aachen.
Dressage is improving from one comp to another. The main improvement is in doing good work in incredible atmosphere. We were pleased with his work and have a system that should keep allowing further improvement.
I think everything caught up with us in the show jumping. After Luhmuhlen he had bruised a heel which meant time off work. Once that was improved I got 2 days work in before Ninja kicked a stable door and left a wound on the back of his hock. This mean't more time off, so in the end we had 2 brief jump sessions and 1 brief dressage session before turning up at Aachen. The jumping has been improving but when Ninja struggled in the show jumping we took the difficult decision to pull him out of the competition.
Now we can let him recover from this huge trip and acclimatise until I come back for another round.
Hopefully we will take him to Pau and it will all come together.
For the moment I am looking forward to seeing my children again. Won't be long now.
