A quick update from Sonja Johnson about how her bones are mending! Well the news is good...sort of! Having seen my surgeon he is pretty happy. The x-rays are good, there is evidence of bone repair. He even said I looked well. Only problem is he said he doesn’t trust me! I ask you. Apparently he would allow a normal person onto 1 crutch now but he thinks that if he keeps me on 2 for another 5 weeks it will slow me down. The comment is the only reason he operated was to speed it all up so I could make London and that he is not letting me wreck the good work by doing too much. Would I do that? So I was supposed to see him on the 21st but he is away (I swear he knew that when he said 5 weeks) so that makes it 6 weeks. The 28th of June. Then he says I can go for it. However trust is a two way thing and I am not sure if I trust HIM on this now. Anyway I am allowed to come to Werribee for the Melbourne 3 Day Event to help my amazing working pupil Ben. Poor fellow is hoping to get enough time off farm work to pack the truck to go to a comp with 5 horses this weekend. Half his luck. So that’s about it for now. I shall continue to sit on my bed or at least lie on it and will my bones to knit in record time. Cheers Sonja
