2022 Wesko Foundation riders
- Harry Mutch
- Emma Thomas
- Kristina Hall-Jackson
Our blog follows the journey of these young riders, shares a behind the scenes look at life on the programme and the hurdles we’re having to negotiate through a pandemic to, quite literally, keep the show on the road.
Welcome to #TeamWesko – the Wesko Equestrian Foundation aims to bring education, training and welfare support to talented young riders, and their equally talented horses. Our Young Riders Programme works with riders between the age of 21 and 28 and offers them the opportunity of bespoke training both on and off the horse.
We ‘bring out the big guns’ to deliver training and support to our team of young riders and by big guns we mean a Rolex Grand Slam winner, a World Number 1 and an Olympian or two!
- Pippa Funnell – quite possibly one of the most successful female eventing riders of the modern era. Pippa offers our riders mentorship like no other could.
- Yogi Breisner – Olympic event rider and former Team GBR Eventing World Class Performance Manager. Yogi offers the young riders support both on and off the horse, with advice on training and performance management.
- Tim Price – former World Number 1, Olympian and multiple 5* winner. Tim partners with our very own Wesko and at the same time is the Foundation’s greatest ambassador.
Alongside some of the world’s best riders and coaches, the Wesko Foundation offers a support team that includes performance and business coaches, media and marketing advisors, physiotherapists and Pilates coaches, to offer a complete support bubble to enable these talented young riders to achieve great things.
