Stuart Tinney is one of the world’s most respected eventing riders. An Olympic gold medallist on his home soil at the Sydney Olympics in 2000, he has since gone on to further success on several horses at many national and international events.
Most recently at the World Equestrian Games in Kentucky in 2010, Stuart was the highest placed Australian rider coming 8th on the wonderful grey horse owned by Kathy Ward and Peter O’Connell in conjunction with Stuart and Karen Tinney.
Stuart has 3 horses at International level; Panamera, Pluto Mio and Orchard Hill and will campaign for the London Olympics.
Stuart is the consummate perfectionist and has produced over 15 International horses. He has a long list of honours and has been an Elite listed rider for over 16 years.
In recognition of his success, in 2000 Stuart was awarded an Order of Australia Medal (OAM) and was inducted into the “Sport Australia Hall of Fame” in November 2003. Stuart was also very proud to be awarded the Anna Savage Medal for the "Best & Fairest" rider in 1997, 2000 & 2007 and 2010.
Stuart and Karen have 2 daughters Jaymee and Gemma. Jaymee recently became the Australian Junior 1 star Champion and has been recently selected on the National Elite Youth Squad 2012. Gemma rides at Pony Club, Interschool and Eventing.
